Located only one hour north of Edmonton, this ski hill spreads over 140 acres and offers 24 downhill runs, over 25km of scenic cross country ski trails and two tubing hills. For those who crave a challenge, the terrain park has “hits”, “rails”, “funboxes” and a super pipe. The Ski Centre was established in 1967 for Canada’s Centennial and has operated ever since. Over the span of the last 50 years, the hill has grown to meet the needs of winter outdoor enthusiasts.
The hill operates most weekends and holidays throughout the winter season. Pine Valley offers runs to suit everyone’s needs, from novice to advanced in both Alpine and Nordic. There are 3 T-bars and one tow rope which provide access to all Alpine runs and the terrain park. There is a large chalet where food and rentals are available. Ski and Snowboard lessons are available for individuals, groups and schools.
Nordic skiing can be accessed from the upper parking lot; please ensure that you stop at the Ski Centre for your day or season pass. Each season the ski centre hosts the Tawatinaw Valley Loppet prior to the annual Alberta Birkebeiner.
